Retro Interactive Ski Lift Sign
Wall or desk art for your home or ski condo. Great if you run an AirBNB, or perhaps as a gift for a skier.
Plug it in, connect it to WiFi, and it will show the lift status of your favorite mountain. The lights will update every few minutes to show the current status.
The interactive artwork comes framed with a black solid-wood frame with glass, and a black-side float. It will also sit on a desk or shelf. A 10-foot power cable and wall-adaptor are included.
Designed and Made in the USA. This is a winter-season product and most resorts do not correctly show lift status in the summer.
RED means lift is closed.
GREEN means lift is open.
YELLOW means lift is on hold.
BLUE means lift is closed but scheduled to open.
Supports automatic over-the-air firmware updates.
Small size is about 8×10 inches.
Will add any mountain upon request. Please select “custom,” place an order, and in the order-notes – list the mountain that you would like. We will custom-create it, and then add it to the regular product line so that others may order it in the future. Custom orders usually still ship within a few days.
Instructions for use:
Plug in device. The first LED will show some colors. Wait until the first LED turns bright blue.
Using your phone, go to WiFi settings. The SSID “ski-sign” should appear. Select it. Your phone will connect to the sign and show an information page. From there, select your home’s WiFi router SSID. Then input your router password. The device will then reboot and connect to your WiFi. A minute or so later, it will show the lift-status.
There is a dial on the back that controls the brightness.
To be nice to the mountains, these signs connect to our ski-signs.com server, which caches the data and relays it to all of the signs. That way, no matter how many signs are in use, there is only one query to the mountain.
Note that some resorts, such as Loon, seems to keep their functional lifts listed as “open” at night even after closing hours. In that case, the sign will indicate that they are open if the resort’s website shows the lift as open, even if after hours and not actually open. The signs show what the resort is indicating.

Note: Due to the glare from the glass and the reflection from the room that is present on all framed artwork, some images are simulated. The Killington example shows the actual glass in place.

LED status when first turned on:
Purple: Warmup
Yellow: Connecting to WiFi
White: Connected to WiFi
Red: Failed to connect to WiFi
Blue: Pairing mode. Open your phone WiFi settings
When you plug this into power, it will turn on the first LED as purple, and then enter a warm-up period. The LED will change to yellow when it is trying to connect to WiFi. If it connects to WiFi, the LED will change to white, and then check the lift status.
If the first three LEDs change to blue, that means it is downloading a new firmware update. After a minute or so, it will show purple, yellow, white, and then resume normal operation with the updated firmware.
